The Revision Retirement coaching team

Transitioning into retirement brings with it a wide range of issues and opportunities, many of which are new as retirees move into uncharted territory. How to stay stimulated? How to create an enriching environment? How to redirect life energy into purpose and passion? And how to navigate the emotional and psychological issues of retirement and all that goes along with it? These are among the areas where coaching can provide insight, clarity and direction. Revision Retirement's coaching team is comprised of deeply experienced and credentialed professionals who are able to identify key transition themes and provide guidance toward creating a successful, productive and fulfilling retirement.

Jose Guzman

Retirement Transition Coach

Jose is a retired Geoscientist who has been ‘walking the talk’ with his own retirement transition since 2015. He helps mid- and late-career professionals and executives transition into a mindful retirement or into their next chapter in life.

Jose’s transition into a new chapter began while recovering from a bicycling accident. His employment as a Geoscientist was in jeopardy in 2015 when the Oil and Gas industry endured the largest drop in oil prices in history. Knowing his employment was in jeopardy, he used his convalescence time to take inventory of his ‘dormant’ or soft skills, of his values, and of the level of satisfaction he had in various aspects of his life. He realized that he had the tools and the means to begin crafting alternate plans that were completely different from his lifelong career and comfort zone.

He holds a B.A. Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, an M.Sc. from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation, a Certified Professional Coach, Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner, member of the International Coach federation, and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC).

As a retirement transition coach Jose blends his personal experiences, his professional insights and his coaching training with his natural empathy, insight and passion for helping others create a meaningful, fulfilling and productive life in whatever phase of life they’re in.
